**Please email info@wabiwoolens.com if you have any questions about fit or sizing. Getting you the right size the first time is very important!** Fabric - this fabric shrinks, and that is good! Washing untreated wool causes shrinkage - this process is called “felting.” When wool is felted, the fibers lock together tighter, creating a denser fabric. After felting, Wabi Woolens Merino wool becomes the perfect fabric to provide excellent weather resistance and durability in a cycling jersey. See the Care page for complete washing information. Wabi Woolens Original jerseys are designed to take advantage of this felting process. The result is a jersey that is more rain and wind resistant than most wool jerseys and still provides the softness and wicking properties for which Merino wool is famous. Even better, the more you use it, the more comfortable it gets! The fabric is 13oz, 100% merino wool interlock. The merino yarn is imported from New Zealand, then knit and dyed in the USA. The process of knitting the fabric with an interlock creates a double-knit effect, which increases abrasion and weather resistance while reducing the chance of a hole or tear becoming larger. It is an expensive knit but worth every penny in the long run. Wabi jerseys feel substantial and hardy without heaviness – this is due to the characteristics of the Merino interlock fabric.
Fit - after shrinkage Wabi Woolens jerseys are designed to be snug but not tight. The fit allows a full range of motion but stays close enough to the body to avoid interfering with movement while reaping the benefits of wool next to the skin. The sleeves should be long enough to cover the base of the hand while the arm is outstretched. The body should be long enough to provide coverage without sagging. Tall Sizes (currently available in Large and XL) - are three inches longer in the body and sleeves and extend the size range a couple of inches. For example, a person who is 6'1" is at the top of the height limit for a size Large, but a LargeTall will fit a person up to 6'4" and an XLTall, up to 6'8". Please email with questions. Your Wabi Woolens jersey is sized to accommodate approximately three inches of shrinkage in the body and the sleeves after washing. It will also shrink a bit through the chest, although not as much. It may shrink a bit more after the first wash but the fit then stabilizes. See the Care Page for more info on shrinkage Check the size chart below - this gives size recommendations based on your body measurements. Taking your actual body measurments will help ensure the correct size jersey. This size reference takes into account the shrinkage of the jerseys. When your jersey arrives, it will seem quite large on you. Wash it - it will fit. SIZING TIPS
